Glassboro Council Tackles Busy Agenda, Discusses Infrastructure and Public Safety
The Glassboro Borough Council convened on Tuesday, May 28th, 2024, for a packed meeting addressing various aspects of the town. After opening statements and roll call, the council delved into several key topics.
Street Naming: The council approved the naming of streets within the new Elsmere project by developer DR Horton.
Closed Session: The council then went into a closed session to discuss potential litigation related to the College Avenue Redevelopment Project. No details were released following the session.
Public Portion: During the public portion, residents raised concerns and suggestions. Topics included downed trees, speed bumps on Pennsylvania Road, and trash accumulation. Additionally, residents expressed concerns about the new 322 bypass and traffic flow in Chestnut Ridge. Mayor Wallace and Administrator Malandro addressed the concerns and provided updates.

Awarding the contract for management services for the 2024 Craft Beer Festival
Accepting a Community Development Block Grant for underground water service pipe replacement
Authorizing safety and stabilization guarantees, performance bonds, and other agreements for development projects
Providing for the insertion of a special revenue item in the budget for distracted driving enforcement
Authorizing change orders for road improvement projects
Purchasing a Galbreath roll-off truck and a Peterbilt trash truck for the Highway Department
Purchasing a leaf machine and an International chassis for the Highway Department
Ordinances: Two ordinances were also unanimously adopted:
Releasing a sanitary sewer easement in a DeSimone property development.
Donating and conveying a portion of Girard Road to the County of Gloucester.
