Glassboro Board of Education Reorganizes for 2025
The Glassboro Board of Education held its annual reorganization meeting on January 2nd, 2025, electing new officers and setting the stage for the upcoming school year. Chris Esgro was elected President of the Board, and Ryan Hughes was elected Vice President.
The meeting also saw the reappointment of several key personnel, including the school treasurer, solicitor, and auditor. The Board also reviewed and approved its operating budget for the year.
The Board acknowledged receipt of and having read the Code of Ethics for School Board Members, ensuring their commitment to upholding the highest ethical standards.
The agenda also included items related to curriculum, instruction, and committee appointments. The Board approved the curricula, program of courses, district assessment overview, five-year curriculum plan, and five-year textbook plan. Additionally, the Board members were assigned to various committees for the year, covering crucial areas like administration, operations, and instruction.
The board also approved the appointment of professional service providers for various areas such as legal counsel, auditing, and school physician services. Notably, Miguel Olivo was appointed as both Integrated Pest Management Coordinator and Right to Know Officer, and Yuna Park will serve as School Safety Specialist.
The BOE further approved the designation of the Superintendent and/or Business Administrator as the Board's authorized representative for State and Federal Projects, and authorized the filing of general applications for Federal funds.
Committee assignments for the 2025 year were also made, with June Longley serving on the Administration committee, Lori Dempster and Michele Ricci on the Operations committee, and Natasha Briggs and Elizabeth Volz on the Curriculum and Instruction committee.
